Educate Resonate respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information I collect, how I use it, and your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).

 

 

 

1. Who I Am

 

 

Educate Resonate is operated by a sole trader providing music production guidance, creative mentoring, and digital resources.

2. Information I Collect

 

 

I only collect the information necessary to provide my services, process purchases, and maintain good communication with students and customers.

This may include:

​

• Name and contact details (e.g. email address), collected via Wix Forms when you subscribe to my mailing list or get in touch.

• Pronouns (optional, to ensure inclusive communication).

• Links to music (e.g. private SoundCloud or download links for feedback or tuition).

• Goals, preferences, and requirements (to tailor sessions to your needs).

• Payment details (processed securely via Wix Payments; other providers such as Stripe may be used in future).

• Mailing list information, including marketing consent, which you give via a clearly marked opt-in tick box at sign-up. This is separate from any other information you provide and is never ticked by default.

I may also collect any other information you choose to share when contacting me.

 

 

 

3. How I Use Your Information

 

 

Your information is used to:

• Provide and manage lessons, feedback, and products.

• Communicate with you about sessions, goals, and updates.

• Process payments through a trusted third-party provider (currently Wix Payments).

• Send email updates if you've opted into my mailing list.

• Personalise your experience, including birthday offers.

4. Music and Creative Work

 

 

Any music or materials you submit remain your property.

I may download your files solely for the purpose of providing feedback, tuition, or related services.

I do not share, publish, or distribute your work, or any information about you as an artist, with any third parties. This is not something I do as standard practice. On the rare occasion I might want to share an anonymised excerpt or example of feedback for educational purposes, I will always confirm this with you directly beforehand and will not proceed without your explicit agreement.

All feedback and related discussions remain confidential unless you agree otherwise.

 

 

 

5. Mailing List and Marketing

 

 

Joining the mailing list is entirely optional, and you actively opt in via a tick box at sign-up — it is never selected by default.

If you subscribe, I'll only send relevant updates, offers, and creative insights.

​

You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking "unsubscribe" in any email or by contacting me directly at info@educateresonate.com.

If you unsubscribe, I'll stop sending marketing emails, but I may still use your contact details for essential communication related to lessons, feedback, or any ongoing services you've booked.

I also hold two smaller legacy mailing lists gathered through previous platforms (Mailchimp and Gumroad). These contacts previously gave permission to be contacted and are handled under the same terms as above; I no longer actively sell through Gumroad but retain the historic list, and I use Mailchimp occasionally to reach the small list still held there.

 

 

 

6. Data Storage and Retention

 

 

I store your information securely through trusted platforms: Wix (website, forms, and payments), Mailchimp (email list management), and, for a legacy contact list only, Gumroad.

How long I keep your data depends on why I collected it:

• Mailing list subscribers: I retain your name and email address for as long as you remain subscribed. There is no fixed expiry — you stay on the list until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete your details, at which point I'll remove them promptly.

• Client and student data (e.g. feedback service details, session notes, submitted music links): retained only for as long as needed to deliver the service, and reviewed for deletion once our engagement has clearly ended, unless you've separately opted into the mailing list.

• Financial records (e.g. payment and invoice data): retained for six years, as required by HMRC, regardless of any other retention period above.

Outside of these categories, I don't hold personal data indefinitely without reason — if a legacy list (such as the Gumroad contacts) becomes inactive and unused for marketing, I'll review and delete it rather than keep it on file by default.

 

 

 

7. Your Rights

 

 

Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the data I hold about you.

• Request corrections to inaccurate information.

• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").

• Withdraw consent for communications.

• Request a copy of your data in a portable format.

8. Cookies and Analytics

 

 

My website, hosted on Wix, may use cookies for basic functionality and visitor analytics.

When you visit the site, a cookie banner will appear allowing you to accept or reject cookies.

​

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through your browser settings.

​

I also use Metricool to schedule and analyse social media activity across my platforms. This only involves aggregate, non-identifiable performance data (e.g. post reach and engagement figures) and does not collect personal data from visitors to this website.

 

 

 

9. Third-Party Services

 

 

I use the following trusted providers to run my business:

​

• Wix – website hosting, contact/sign-up forms, and payment processing (Wix Payments).

• Mailchimp – management of a small, opted-in email list.

• Gumroad – legacy platform; I no longer sell through it but retain a list of contacts who previously gave permission to be contacted.

• Metricool – social media scheduling and analytics; used for aggregate performance data only, not personal data collection from this website.

• Stripe – not currently in use; may be introduced as a payment processor in future, at which point this policy will be updated.

Each provider has its own privacy policy explaining how they protect your data. I only use reputable services that comply with data protection regulations.

 

 

 

10. Updates to This Policy

 

 

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in services or data protection law.
